My name is Lori and I started Sierra Getaways (formerly known as Tahoe Five Star Hosting) because I fell in love with hosting guests and helping them make the best memories. I will be your host during your stay at all the amazing Sierra Getaways vacation rentals that I'm lucky enough to manage in the North Lake Tahoe area. This was a phenomenal introduction to the Lake Tahoe and Truckee area for our family. We have stayed at dozens of AirBnB’s but this place took the Gold and for all the right reasons. The peaceful surroundings are comparable only to the best that mother nature has to offer, the architecture and interior design flow with the theme of the home, and the nice and thoughtful touches that the host provided were very accommodating. This town is beautiful and this home is on such a wonderful river that seems to thrive with the spirit of the mountains and valleys around it, full of life, rest, and relaxation. The decor was on point, quality and comfortable, the deck was fabulously large, and the riverbank was beautiful as well. Thank you for such a nice stay!

Lori is an awesome host. Communication was phenomenal!!!  The house was beyond amazing.  We felt like ROYALTY.  Having a Level 2 EV Charger inside the garage was very convenient. The leather couch in the living room was very cozy along with the huge TV and surround system. Oh, did I mention the river?  OMG. Oh, did I mention how awesome Lori was? OMG  :)   We were also fortunate to be their first guests.  No need to look any further for a rental.  I highly recommend this paradise.

Peaceful getaway in an ultra-modern home tucked away in a cul-de-sac, away from everybody else, next to a cool trail! This place is perfect for those who work remotely (3 office desks, with 600 Mbps WiFi, 32” 4k monitors with Thunderbolt/USB-C), Sonos, Apple TV - I felt right at home as a techie! 2 EV chargers in the garage with NEMA 14-50 plugs, perfect for Teslas and charges quick!

We had a fantastic stay at this Tahoe Airbnb! The home was spacious, comfortable, and perfect for our group. We especially appreciated the number of bathrooms, which made getting ready and sharing the space so much easier. The private beach was a huge highlight and made our trip feel extra special. Our stay at Lori’s condo was amazing. After another host canceled on us last minute, Lori responded and accepted our request within minutes and send us all the check in information right away. She really saved our weekend trip! The condo location is perfectly walkable to the chairlifts and village restaurants, with included parking and access to lots of amenities. Great view from the condo, with nice separation between the bedroom and living space, and a full kitchen and the double vanity bathroom was very clean, spacious, and well stocked. The building is not that contemporary, but Loris unit is tastefully updated, decorated, and surprisingly child safe, with soft clean linens, very little breakable stuff, and fully covered outlets. The coffee bar was a nice addition, but being 2 minutes from Wildflour was the real winner. We will definitely be returning with our two kids.

I would highly recommend Lori's place.  Everything feels higher end for an AirBnb: comfy bed and sheets, plush towels, great kitchen, etc.  There is also a sit/stand desk if you have to get any work done while there.  The location is perfect.  60 second walk to Wa She Shu lift or a 5 minute walk to the Funitel.  The unit is a corner unit, so only neighbors on one side: feels very private.  The views are pretty of the mountains.  Close enough to the village to be walkable and convenient, but far enough to feel a bit more private.  Lori is an amazing host - super friendly, proactive, and responsive.  Truly enjoyed my stay and can't wait to come back!

We were a group of ladies enjoying a weekend getaway to celebrate a friend's birthday.  The views from the condo were spectacular, and it was well equipped with towels, linens, as well as a fully stocked kitchen.  We enjoyed the condo so much that we ended up staying in instead of going out to dinner.  There was plenty of seating for everyone, and the beds were comfortable. The pool was nice and warm, and the sauna was splendid.  We even got in a couple of games of pickeball!  I would highly recommend Lori's place and will definitely stay here again.

We stayed at Lori’s for our spring break ski trip. With limited snow, Lori proactively shared great alternative activities and was quick to respond to all questions. She kindly allowed early access to the rec center so we could use the hot tub after skiing before check-in. The cabin is ideal for a ski trip, walkable to the gondola and a cozy place to relax, cook, and unwind. It comfortably fit our two families (five kids), and the ski locker by the gondola made multi-day skiing with kids easy. We considered bringing our dog but opted for a sitter due to the hefty deposit. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would love to return!

This condo is great!  It is clean and free of clutter but has all the modern things a visitor might need.  The access is easy and simple.  The pull-out bed worked great.  The location next to the Village on the gondola side is ideal.  We were too late this season to ski-in/ski-out but getting to the gondola and the Village was as short as one could ask for.  Arguably better than the Village itself, because you can park right next to the cabin, unlike many of the arrangements in the Village.

True ski-in ski-out in perfect Northstar location. Ski down home run right off the back deck. Easy access to Lake Tahoe and Truckee. Great views from all rooms. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful stay and would absolutely return. The home is beautiful, comfortable, and incredibly well equipped for a mountain getaway. The ski-in/ski-out access is fantastic, skiing straight down to the gondola made everything effortless, and waits were only a few minutes. The hot tub was perfect after long days on the slopes, and the views are stunning. Inside, the beds were exceptionally cozy, with plenty of sleeping space (the bunk beds were a hit with the kids). The house is very well stocked with dishes, cookware, spices, and thoughtful extras like a full coffee and hot chocolate station. We especially appreciated the ski storage, boot and glove dryers, easy garage access, and always-cleared snowy entry. Communication with the host was quick, helpful, and friendly. Overall, a beautiful, well-cared-for home that made our trip easy, relaxing, and memorable. Highly recommend!

We had a great stay at this place. The space was great for our two families of 6 kids, and the kitchen was very well stocked. Plenty of space for everyone inside, and the backyard was excellent for snow play. Access to the garage was especially nice during the snow storm. A major storm delayed our travels and we arrived a day late. Lori was more than accommodating and allowed us to extend our stay.

We love staying at this location and Lori was a great host! The home was very cozy and clean. The view is amazing watching the skiers go down the hill from the window while we relaxed by the fire. We were able to walk out the front door, jump right onto the mountain and ski down to the village gondola. Definitely recommended and would stay there again.

Lori’s place was perfect for our family of 3. We got stuck in Tahoe during a recent snowstorm and moved from another Airbnb to Lori’s place. Lori was an absolute angel to let us check in early and we felt immediately comfortable the moment we opened the door to her cabin. The beds were so comfortable, there were plenty of cozy blankets, and the bench was the best place to watch snowfall.
